IKEM has published its Annual Report 2025. It provides a comprehensive overview of the institute’s work over the past year. In addition to information on research projects, events and publications, the report offers exciting insights into the work of the IKEM experts.

In 2025, around 50 employees at IKEM worked on 63 projects to develop solutions for a climate-neutral future. The research topics included the system integration of renewable energies, flexibility options in the electricity system, ammonia as an energy source, the automation of public transport, charging infrastructure sharing, climate protection options for the transport sector, the heating transition in neighborhoods, socio-cultural aspects of the energy transition and negative emission technologies.

The research was funded primarily by project grants from national and European funding programs (54.7 percent), as well as by public (17.6 percent) and private contracts (21.7 percent). IKEM’s annual revenue in 2025 was approximately 2.6 million euros.

Other milestones of the year included IKEM’s participation in the COP30 in Belém, the co-founding of the European Association of Climate Law (EACL) and the IKEM annual conference on the hydrogen economy.

The annual report is now available online and can be downloaded as a PDF.
