In our projects, we take a look at all aspects of a sustainable society, ranging from wind turbines and hydrogen to autonomous shuttles. We support innovative ideas with our knowledge and advocate for more climate protection through applied research.

With extensive project experience and over 60 employees from a wide range of disciplines, we address legal, economic and political issues on behalf of public and private clients.
From theory to practice
In our projects we work on climate protection strategies as well as energy and mobility concepts. We participate in living labs and use the experience to develop recommendations for the legal and economic implementation climate action.
Foundation for good legislation
Our work links research to social and political debates. That is how we create a foundation for good legislation and help companies, municipalities and government agencies to plan their climate protection strategies.
Main areas of work
Energy Law
Transforming our energy system and increasing the use of renewables is a major undertaking. The IKEM is meeting this challenge by conducting analyses, issuing expert opinions and developing strategies to optimise the legal framework.
