BiNe

The energy transition in Germany is being driven to a large extent by citizens – for example through energy cooperatives, community wind projects, municipal heating companies and other forms of community energy generation. However, these actors often lack structured access to the legal, technical and business knowledge required for the successful establishment and long-term operation of such structures.

This is precisely where the BiNe project comes in and develops a needs-oriented training program for citizen energy actors. It is based on a systematic needs analysis that empirically records the specific knowledge and qualification requirements of this target group. The results are incorporated into the design of a network and suitable learning formats that are intended to strengthen the ability of civil society energy structures to act.

IKEM is responsible for the strategic education analysis within the project network and contributes its expertise in energy and climate protection law as well as in issues relating to the governance of the energy transition.
