Project

Cyberattacks targeting electric vehicles, charging infrastructure and connected mobility systems are increasing across Europe, both in frequency and sophistication. This trend is creating new risks for the security, reliability and resilience of energy and transport systems.

The European collaborative project PREVENT addresses these challenges by developing a comprehensive cybersecurity framework for electromobility. The project is designing modular solutions for the prevention, detection and mitigation of cyberattacks, which are being tested in practical settings such as public charging, fleet operations and public transport.

Within the project, IKEM is examining the economic aspects of these solutions, with a particular focus on business models, scalability and their regulatory integration. Key areas of work include analysing the legal framework for cybersecurity in electromobility, as well as issues related to data protection, data management and the ethical dimensions of digital infrastructure.
