Abstract

The text combines a future vision of urban mobility in the year 2045 with an empirical analysis of current attitudes towards sustainable mobility. The narrative first half describes the everyday life of a family in a largely car-free city, characterized by free public transport services, bicycle infrastructure and intelligent mobility solutions. The second half presents the results of a representative survey from 2023, which shows a high level of willingness for sufficient mobility: The majority of respondents want alternatives to the car and short distances. Families with children are particularly in favor of a mobility turnaround.
