IKEM published its 2024 annual report today. On 52 pages you can find out everything relevant about the work of IKEM over the past year. In addition to reports on research projects, events and publications, you can expect exciting insights into the work of the IKEM experts.
In 2024, around 60 scientists at IKEM were working on solutions for a climate-neutral future in around 80 projects. The research topics included airborne wind power, ammonia as a maritime energy source, cross-border electric road systems, the automation of public transport, heat storage in urban areas, district concepts for the heat transition, transnational cooperation in the Baltic Sea region and social innovations for a fair energy transition.
Research was mainly financed by project funds from national and European funding programs (68.6 percent) as well as public (12.3 percent) and private contracts (14.3 percent). IKEM’s annual turnover rose to around 3.8 million euros in 2024.
Other milestones of the year included the expansion of the scientific management, the establishment of an advisory research directorate and the move to new premises in Berlin-Mitte.
