The Institute for Climate Protection, Energy and Mobility (IKEM) is an independent non-profit research organisation that develops practical solutions for climate action, focusing on sustainable energy and mobility. It combines legal, economic, social and policy research to support an inclusive and just transformation towards sustainability. IKEM’s second Equal Opportunity Plan is based on its previous Gender Equality Plan (2023–2025). It strives to sustainably transform its organisational processes, structures and cultures to combat and reduce barriers and inequalities in its research and work. The Plan establishes concrete targets (based on a status quo assessment), and specific measures that will be implemented in the period of 2026 till 2028 to improve gender equality and diversity within IKEM and in the field of climate research and innovation. The Plan further establishes clear responsibilities for different activities and outlines timelines of measures to be implemented, and for measuring progress and success.
