Are you interested in climate and environmental protection and in illustrating it graphically? Would you like to work in a dynamic, international team in the heart of Berlin? Then this is the right job for you!
IKEM’s Sustainability & Innovation team is looking for a creative, initiative-taking intern with a background in graphic design to join the visualisation and communication efforts of IKEM starting in September 2022.
About IKEM
IKEM (Institute for Climate Protection, Energy and Mobility) works to accelerate and achieve the global energy transition and to reach our climate targets on time. The Institute offers leading interdisciplinary knowledge through six expert teams that work on energy law, climate finance, sustainable mobility, energy transition in transport, public relations, and sustainability and innovation. The latter two teams place a strong emphasis on the importance of communication to raise awareness on climate and energy topics among broader audiences, and to create not just acceptance, but even excitement around the prospect of a decentralised renewable energy supply and the many possibilities for public engagement and social innovation it holds.
About the position
The importance of design and visual communication is being increasingly recognised in scientific fields. IKEM has always placed great value on such tools. We are committed to answering the changing demands and preferences of our target audiences, from sector experts to policy-makers to the Fridays-for-Future generation. As a graphic design intern, you will work in close collaboration with the Sustainability and Innovation team, as well as with the Public Relations team at IKEM. Guided by our senior designer, your tasks will focus on visualising research results relating to climate protection and the energy transition while contributing to the development of IKEM’s visual identity. The work will range from formatting text, developing easy to understand infographics and creating artwork for social media.
The internship will be remunerated with 450 € per month for a 40 hour working week.
