Markus Lehnshack was a Senior Research Associate research fellow at IKEM until June 2025. Since then, he has been supporting projects in the areas of energy law and mobility as well as project acquisition as an external employee.
His research focuses on the mobility, energy and building sectors, with a particular focus on socially just solutions to the challenges of the climate crisis.
He also deals with issues of gender equality
He studied law at the University of Potsdam, specializing in international law. During his studies, he completed an internship at the Permanent Mission of Austria to the OSCE in Vienna and worked as a research associate at the law firms Dombert Rechtsanwälte and Wegnerpartner, where he gained experience in public and private construction and planning law, tenancy law and corporate law. He completed his legal clerkship in Berlin with stations at the German Bundestag, the law firm Geulen & Klinger and the environmental law organization ClientEarth.
