What are the general energy-economic conditions for battery storage systems?
With the growing share of electricity from fluctuating renewable sources, there is a need for more flexibility in the energy system. In addition to sector coupling and other flexibility options, battery storage systems will play a central role.
On behalf of the transmission system operator TenneT, IKEM examined the energy-related framework conditions for exclusively grid-connected electricity storage systems. The IKEM researchers created a tabular overview which summarizes the most important regulations and state-imposed electricity price components for battery storage systems.
