EDDY

Standards for openly accessible, high-resolution dynamic traffic maps

Projekt

Up-to-date and accurate digital map data is a key prerequisite for guiding urban traffic and modern mobility applications such as autonomous driving. In the EDDY project, the Hanseatic City of Hamburg is working on a digital city map that provides, among other things, static (traffic signs, construction sites, etc.) and dynamic map data (weather, traffic situation, etc.). In the course of the trial, common standards are to be established in cooperation with other major European cities and the foundations laid for community-oriented and publicly accessible digital maps.

For the project, IKEM is conducting legal analyses on the design of data access and the (further) processing of collected data. For this purpose, the IKEM is preparing a meta-analysis on the current state of research as well as on the current legal framework and is developing recommendations for action with regard to possible adaptations of the legal framework.
