EEG Progress Report: Coordination project

The IKEM supports the coordination of the scientific sector-specific projects for the next EEG experience report.

Project

The German Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) is the central law for the promotion of renewable energies and creates the necessary framework for their expansion. In order to determine the effectiveness of the law, regular evaluations are carried out, among other things, on the effects of the EEG on the expansion of the various renewable energy sources. As in the past, the IKEM is involved in the scientific preparation of this progress report on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi).

In the coordination project, the IKEM organizes a close networking of the research institutions working on the topics of the progress report on behalf of the BMWi. These include the various renewable energy sources (solar, onshore wind, offshore wind, etc.), direct marketing and other marketing models for renewable energies. IKEM is coordinating the timely finalization of the sector-specific scientific reports and will compile them into a well-founded and comprehensive overall scientific report. This will serve as a starting point for the draft of the progress report of the federal government, which must be submitted to the Bundestag by December 31, 2023.
