Prof. Dr. jur. Michael Rodi (MA) is the Executive Director and Director of Research at IKEM, which he founded in 2009. He is the head of the IKEM Research Academy and the editor of the legal journal Klima und Recht.

Rodi is also the spokesman for the Energy Cluster at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Baltic Sea Region Research (IFZO) in Greifswald. From 1999–2021, he was Professor of Public Law, Financial Law, Environmental and Energy Law in the Faculty of Law and Economics at the University of Greifswald.

Rodi studied law, political science and economics in Constance, Munich and Paris. His areas of expertise include climate law, sustainable energy and transport, and tax and subsidy law. From 2007–2009, Rodi assisted in the implementation of ecological tax reform as an adviser to the Vietnamese government. He was appointed to the Scientific Committee of the International Institute of State Law (IIEDE) in Porto Allegre, Brazil, in 2004 and became an honorary member of the Brazilian Tax Institute (IBPT) in 2006.
