Adaptation of passenger transport law in the course of digitization
The field of road traffic is being significantly changed by advancing digitization. Digital mobility platforms can offer a great opportunity to shape mobility services according to need, cost-effectiveness and, if necessary, organized by the citizens themselves. However, they can also lead to a complete change in traditional mobility services. Local public transport as well as taxi or rental car services could be displaced by new digital-based business models.
The aim of the project is to present the existing legal framework for passenger transport, to critically question it, taking into account socio-economic aspects and the potential of digitization, and to develop recommendations for action on how the legal framework can be adapted.
