The "Energy transition in social space" (ESRa) project examines regional differences in the acceptance of energy transition projects.
The “Energy transition in social space” (ESRa) project examines the factors that distinguish regions that are predominantly positive about the energy transition from those that have a negative attitude. The project relates these questions to the current divergence between regions that stand to gain from globalization and those that lack the resources and capabilities to do so. For this purpose, the selected model regions Berlin and the Spree-Neisse district are compared with one another with regard to various possible future scenarios.
In addition to economic concepts, IKEM is also developing regulatory proposals that are suitable for promoting the energy transition in both regions. The aim of the project is to draft recommendations for action and concrete legislative and governance proposals on the basis of a canon of legal instruments.
