Automated driving in cross-border passenger and freight traffic
The purpose of the I-AT project is to develop and test technologies for the automation of vehicles for passenger transport and logistics. Automated vehicles will be tested in “Living Labs” at Weeze Airport (parking space shuttle), in a cross-border transport corridor (Aachen-Vaals) and in the Food Valley between Ede and Wageningen.
IKEM is responsible for examining the economic and political framework for various areas of application for autonomous vehicles. These include (cross-border) passenger transport, city logistics for parcel services and the operation of platooning trucks on public roads. In addition, IKEM is involved in the analysis and presentation of the legal framework for autonomous driving in cooperation with the law firm Becker Büttner Held.
