TransHyDE-Norm

Legal issues of standardization and certification of the transport of hydrogen bound in ammonia

Project

The lead project TransHyDE evaluates and tests hydrogen transport solutions in several demonstration projects. The practical trials will be supplemented by accompanying scientific research, including the TransHyDE-Norm subproject. Uniform specifications in the form of norms, standards and certification programs are needed to enable the implementation of the transport options discussed in TransHyDE. The aim of the project is therefore to holistically investigate the standardization of transport, distribution and storage options for hydrogen and other chemical energy carriers. In this way, regulatory gaps are to be identified and possible solutions developed. In TransHyDE-Norm, the IKEM deals with the legal issues of standardization and certification of the transport of hydrogen bound in ammonia.
